Taste Southern

We take a flight to Cochin where we enjoy the city lights, spice markets and local cuisine followed by a trip to the backwaters of Alleppey where we spend the night in a houseboat with its own cook dishing out local specialties. Then we visit the tea growing areas of Munnar and Ooty at an average height of 6000 feet and spend a night in the Periyar Wildlife sanctuary all the while sampling local cuisine. Then we go to Bangalore, the silicon valley of India via Mysore which is a hub of South Indian arts and culture. From Bangalore, we go to Chennai via Kanchipuram which is known for its silk. In Chennai, we spend a day experiencing the sights, sounds and tastes of the city followed by a day trip to Pondicherry. Pondicherry is a unique coastal town on the east coast of India where French and Tamil are still the official languages. At the end of the trip, we fly out of Chennai.
